Board Officer Elections and Registration Update

On February 19, 2026, as per the bylaws, the BWP/NAD Board of Directors met to hold their Officer and Committee seat elections. This meeting also served as a follow up to the January meeting for additional voting on including microchips with registration. It was also unanimously decided that BWP/NAD would have more than one channel of communication through multiple email addresses.

MICROSHIP INCLUSION IN REGISTRATION

The BOD unanimously voted to include bio-thermal microchips for all 2026 and future registrations. Microchips are required for registration and passport distribution and BWP/NAD will provide physical microchips for each registered foal, yearling or older horse who has yet to be registered in the Foal Book. Horses that are registered outside an inspection will have a microchip mailed to the breeder or agent along with DNA kit once registration is paid in full. Registration will be complete when all information including DNA markers and vet verification of microchip implantation are received.
